Swimming & Diving to Host GT on Senior Day

The NC State swimming and diving program will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 15, against Georgia Tech at 1 p.m. at the Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center on campus. The event will be streamed for free online via GoPack.com All-Access.
Free swim caps will also be given out to kids in attendance.
The meet will serve as Senior Day for five men’s swimmers and six women’s swimmers, including: Dan Forsythe, Jennifer Kopenitz, Ben Mechak, Tyler Mills, Amanda Panty, Nancy Radloff, Ashley Richter, Nick Schauer, Mike Seiferth, Meg Thompson and Jessica Ward.
The meet is the first for the Wolfpack since competing at the Georgia Tech Invitational this past November. The Wolfpack women own a 4-1 (1-1 ACC) overall record, while the men are currently tied for the ACC lead with a 4-0 (2-0 ACC) slate. The men are receiving votes in the latest Division I poll released by the CSCAA.
Wolfpack men’s relays have hit NCAA “B” cuts in both the 200 freestyle and 800 freestyle relays, while Chris Arcara and Hudson Rains have both qualified for NCAA diving zones. Hannah Hopkins and Kirstyn Shepler have also qualified for zones.
Georgia Tech comes to Raleigh after sweeping UNC Wilmington and falling to Florida State last weekend. Both the men and women have a 3-5 (0-2 ACC) record.
