Men's Golf in Second at Golfweek's Conference Challenge

BURLINGTON, IOWA -
Led by a three-under par (69) first round by Brandon Detweiler, NC State men's golf finished day one in second of 15 teams at Golfweek's Conference Challenge on the Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington, Iowa.
Detweiler's 69 included four birdies on the front nine and earns him a share of fifth place, five shots back of leader Chris Brant from Iowa.
The Akron, Pa. native is coming off of a top-10 finish at The Invitational at the Ocean Course last week in South Carolina.
The Wolfpack sits 15 shots back of tournament leaders Iowa at -5 (283) with one round in the books.
Albin Choi and Mitchell Sutton also turned in under-par rounds for NC State on Sunday. Choi fired a -2 (70), while Sutton came in at -1 (71).
Choi's round earns him a top-ten standing in ninth place overall. Sutton ends up one shot shy of the top-ten in 13th place.
Graham Baillargeon rounded out the scoring for the Wolfpack with his +1 (73) to settle into 32nd place.
Mark McMillen posted an opening round +8 (80) to warrant a share of 69th place.
