Sophomore Kara Blosser registered the lone goal of NC State's 1-0 victory over Old Dominion Friday night in Norfolk, Va.
Blosser found the back of the net on a header thanks to junior Kristina Argiroff's assist in the 22nd minute.
The goal marks Blosser's third of the year. Argiroff's assist ties her with Jennie Krauser for the team lead of four on the season.
With the win, the Wolfpack wraps up their non-conference slate with a record of 6-3-0, dropping Old Dominion to 2-2-1.
NC State keeper Kim Kern picked up her third shutout of the season with a nine save effort in goal. Kern notched two saves over the final ten minutes, and withstood two ODU corner kicks during the same stretch.
Old Dominion out shot the Wolfpack 17-13 on the game, with the Kern-led NC State defense stepping up against an 11 shot barrage in the second half to post their second shutout in a row, the sixth on the year.
NC State now looks toward the Atlantic Coast Conference schedule, which opens up on September 23 with a road trip to Clemson. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET next Thursday.
