As the PGA TOUR's regular season finished this week in Greensboro and now heads into its four-week playoff, GoPack.com compiled a quick glance of former NC State players competing on tour this season. Wolfpackers Tim Clark and Carl Pettersson each won once this season and are included among the top-125 that will compete for the FedEx Cup over the next five weeks.
Tim Clark: Currently stands 10th in the 2010 PGA TOUR FedEx Regular Season Point Standings and 27th in the Official World Golf Rankings. He earned his first career victory this season at THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP and owns six top-10 finishes this season, tied for third most in 2010. He also posted his eighth-career runner-up finish at the Bob Hope Classic. Clark has made over $3 million this season and nearly $17 million over his career.
Carl Pettersson: Currently ranks 20th in the 2010 PGA TOUR FedEx Regular Season Point Standings. He won his fourth PGA TOUR victory in late July at the RBC Canadian Open, earning $918,000. Pettersson also has four top-10 finishes this season, including a fifth-place tie at the Sony Open in Hawaii. He has collected $1.8 million this season and just over $14 million during his golfing career.
Garth Mulroy: In his rookie season on the PGA TOUR, the native South African stands 177th on the FedEx Regular Season Point Standings. He has earned $287,118 in 18 events, and has one top-10 - tying for sixth at the Valero Texas Open. He ranks in the top 25 on tour in eagles per hole and is coming off a tie for 41st last week at the Wyndam Championship.
Marc Turnesa: Has entered into six PGA TOUR events this year, but has suffered through injury most of the 2010 campaign. He is expected to receive a major medical exemption from the tour for next season. He has earned $1.5 million in his career and won the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in 2008.
Jerry Richardson, Jr.: Qualified for his first PGA TOUR event last week at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, N.C. Wound up making the cut, and earned $12,724 with his tie for 49th placement. After an even-par 70 during Thursday's opening round, Richardson shot -10 under (66-67-67) over the final three rounds.
Matt Hill: Since turning pro in June, the former Wolfpack All-American has made the cut in one of five PGA TOUR events.
