Columbus, Ind. - The NC State women's golf team remains in 20th at the NCAA Central Regional held at Otter Creek Golf Course.
The Wolfpack posted a team score of 324 (+36), a four-shot improvement from Thursday's first round score of 328 (+40). Through 36 of 54 scheduled holes, the Pack has compiled a score of +76 (652).
Juniors Julie Saleeby and Brooke Baker continue to set the pace for NC State. Saleeby fired a six-over 78 Friday and is tied for 39th overall at +14. She recorded a pair of birdies to make the turn at just two-over as the Pack began from the back tees this morning. However, she was unable to get anything going on the incoming nine with four bogeys.
Similar to her classmate, Baker also notched two birdies on her front nine to go out at even par. In fact they were on the same holes as Saleeby- the par-4 11th and par-4 17th. A double bogey at No. 1 led to a seven-over back nine and Baker finds herself at +15 and tied for 50th among the field of 123 competitors.
Senior Emily Street shot an 84 and is tied for 90th at +23 through 36 holes.
Senior Kathleen Strandberg had a smooth first eight holes, posting par on each, but followed with five straight bogeys to wind up with an 83 today. She is tied for 95th at +24.
Senior Joanna Saleeby shot an 87 and is currently tied for 109th at +29.
Southern California sits atop the leaderboard at +27 (603), followed by Arizona State (607) and Oklahoma State (613). Oklahoma State's Victoria Park and Southern Cal's Lizette Salas leads the individuals at +2 (146).
Final round action begins Saturday at 8 a.m.
