Jumpers, Sprinters, Throwers Compete at Ohio State

Several Wolfpack sprinters, jumpers and throwers competed at the Jesse Owens Track Classic today in Columbus, Ohio. Lawanda Henry, sophomore from Dunn, posted a season-best throw of 15.85 meters to finish tied for fifth in the shot put, while Salisbury senior Jason Jones’ 17.92 meter mark in the men’s shot was his third-best distance of 2010. Kayla Lawson, a senior who was competing near her hometown of Westerville, Ohio, tied for ninth in the high jump at 1.65 meters, while Brittany McCain, a sophomore from Monroe, was 20th in the discus at 44.02m. Freshman Ben Major of Fayetteville finished 9th in the 400 meter hurdles, clocking in at 53.87, the second-fastest time he has run in that event in 2010. Senior Reggie Reese, a Raleigh native, finished 11th in the 100 meters with a time of 10.64 and clocked in at 22.19 in the 200 meters to finish 26th. Several members of NC State’s distance crew are competing this evening at the Payton Jordan Invitational at Stanford.
