RALEIGH, N.C. – Former NC State football players Ted Larsen and Willie Young were both selected in the 2010 NFL Draft on Saturday. The New England Patriots selected Larsen in the sixth round, while the Detroit Lions called on Young in the seventh.
Larsen spent three years on the defensive line for the Wolfpack before moving to center for his final two seasons. He played in 43 games while in Raleigh, making 30 starts. Larsen tallied 23 total tackles with four sacks on the defensive side of the ball, before registering 185 knockdowns at center.
Young was selected as a defensive end with the potential to play at linebacker. Noted for high athleticism and versatility, he is projected to be a pass rushing specialist.
