Softball, Boston College Set for ACC Series

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State and Boston College will play a three-game ACC series at the Curtis & Jacqueline Dail Softball Stadium, April 2-3. The Wolfpack and Eagles will play two games on Friday beginning at 2 p.m., before wrapping up the series with a 12 noon tilt on Saturday. The first game of Friday’s twin bill will serve as “Power in Pink,” the Pack’s annual cancer awareness event and fundraiser. Click here for complete details.
NC State (20-15 / 3-3 ACC) is riding high after taking two of three games on the road last week from archrival No. 19 North Carolina. In all, the Pack won three games last week, two at UNC over the weekend and another earlier in the week at UNC Greensboro.
Allison Presnell hit .455 throughout last week, with two home runs, four RBIs and 12 total bases. Katie Mansilla added a .400 clip. Lindsay Campana picked up three complete-game victories, fanning 20 batters in 19 innings of working and allowing just one earned run and nine hits.
Campana sits a 14-5 on the year with a 0.77 ERA in 127 innings. She has struck out 180 batters and allowed just 14 earned runs.
Boston College carries a 9-14 (0-3 ACC) record after dropping three at Florida State last weekend. The Eagles were set to host Boston University this Wednesday but that contest was called off due to rain.
Renee Ramos has continued her solid career in Chestnut Hill this season, batting .373 with 11 RBIs, 43 total bases and five home runs. Brittany Wilkins has five doubles and 10 RBIs, while Dani Weir has driven in 11 runs.
The Eagles have used three hurlers in the circle, with each seeing significant action. Nicole D’Argento leads the rotation with 53.1 innings of work, carrying a 1.97 ERA and a 3-4 record with 60 strikeouts. Taylor Peyton (4-8, 3.87 ERA, 47.0 IP) and Allison Gage (2-2, 2.19 ERA, 44.2 IP) round out the staff.
NC State will return to the road next weekend for an ACC series at Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla., April 10-11.
