No. 42 W. Tennis Loses to No. 2 UNC

Chapel Hill, N.C. - The No. 42 NC State women's tennis team fell to instate rival No. 2 North Carolina, 7-0 on Thursday, March 4.
UNC began the day by taking the doubles point. Ashley Miller and Diana Mortlock lost 8-1 to Jocelyn Ffriend and Haley Hemm, 8-1. Lenka Hojckova and Tana Illova were beaten 8-4 by the No. 8 tandem of Sophie Grabinski and Sanaz Marand. The bright spot for the Wolfpack was the doubles pair of Sandhya Nagaraj and Berkeley Brock upsetting the No. 39 team Katrina Tsang and Shinann Featherston, 8-6.
No. 107 Nagaraj played her fifth ranked opponent of the season, but fell 6-3, 6-3 to No. 32 Tsang. Brock lost 6-0, 6-4 to No. 48 Marand. Hojckova was defeated 6-1, 6-1 by Jelena Durisic.
Chloe Smith moved up to the No. 4 singles spot, but couldn't get past Zoe De Bruycker, losing 6-2, 6-1. After winning the first set Illova was beaten 6-7, 6-2, 1-0 by Grabinski. Miller closed out the matchup with a 6-3, 6-1 loss to Featherston.
The Wolfpack move to 4-4 on the year and 0-2 in the ACC. The Pack have a day off and then return to action against No. 53 Wake Forest on Saturday, March 6 at 1:00 p.m. in Raleigh, N.C. The first 30 fans will get a free t-shirt.
