Pack Breezes Past Tulane 4-0

Houston, Texas - The No. 36 NC State men's tennis team finished the Rice Invitational with a 4-0 sweep of Tulane. The Wolfpack ended the three-day event with a 2-1 record.
The Pack opened up doubles play with the same lineup as yesterday. Dominic Hodgson and Rob Lowe took down Shaye Wali and Joe Young, 8-3. Jaime Pulgar and Dave Thomson easily beat Etham Frenkel and Trevor Getz 8-1 to give the Pack the doubles point. Fernando Banos and Frideric Prandecki were tied 4-4 with Adam Bernstein and Rodrigo Rappoccioli before the point was decided.
In singles, the Wolfpack won the first three matches and were leading in the other three when the victory was sealed. No. 94 Pulgar led the way with 6-3, 6-0 win over Wali. Gujarati defeated Frenkel, 6-1, 6-2. Hodgson gave the Pack the win with a 6-2, 7-5 victory against Young.
The other three matches weren't finished. D. Thomson led 6-3, 5-3 over Bernstein. Rafael Paez was ahead of Rappaccioli 7-5, 4-0. Banos was leading 7-5, 2-1 against Getz.
The Wolfpack moves to 12-4 on the year. The Pack have a quick turnaround, traveling to play Wake Forest on Wednesday, March 24 at 3:00 p.m. The rest of the matches are against ACC foes.
