Three Qualify for Finals at 49er Classic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Three NC State men's track and field athletes qualified for finals with strong performances at the 49er Classic on Friday. A'Tolani Akinkuotu (100m), Miles Walker (400m) and Shawn Murray (400m) will run on Saturday in the finals.
Akinkuotu ran a 10.60 to finish third in the 100m run. Teammate Reggie Reese was ninth in the event.
Walker ran a 48.74 in the 400m to finish fourth, and Shawn Murray ran a 48.99 to finish sixth.
Geoff King was fifth in the 1,500m run with a time of 3:54.62.
Grant Pearce was ninth in the hammer throw.
