PONTA VEDRA BEACH, FLA. - The NC State men's golf team ended the final day in 14th place at the John Hayt Invitational. The Wolfpack shot a 16-over (298) in the third round to finish the tournament at 50-over (914). North Florida won the invite with a 12-over (876).
Matt Hill led the Wolfpack throughout the tournament. The junior finished in a tie for 15th place with a seven-over (223) for three days after finishing today with a four-over (76). Hill was even after the front-nine. His two birdies on the back-nine help offset some struggles.
Mitchell Sutton had the top round of the day for the Pack with an even par (72). His 10-over (226) was good enough for a tie for 27th place. Sutton's day included two birdies.
Mark McMillen shot a five-over (77) to contribute to his three day score of 16-over (232). Brad Revell's third round score of eight-over (80) put him at 18-over (234) for the tournament. Brandon Detweiler rounded out the Pack with a 54-hole score of 26-over (242). Both Detweiler and McMillen had three birdies, while Revell had two.
The Pack will return to action on March 14-15 at the General Hackler Invitational, which takes place at TPC Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, S.C.
