Divers Headed to NCAA Zones

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State will send all four of its divers to the 2010 NCAA Zone B Diving Championships, March 12-14, in Atlanta, Ga. All action will be held at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center. Live stats and information will also be available via DiveMeets.com.
Chris Arcara, Hannah Hopkins, Hudson Rains and Kirstyn Shepler will all compete in the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform dives. All four divers are true freshmen.
“We are looking forward to a great meet,” said Wolfpack head diving coach Jenny Keim Johansen. “Our divers have been performing really well as of late, and we are confident that will carry over into a successful showing in Atlanta.”
Hopkins won the platform dive at the ACC Championships and was named all-conference in both the platform and 3-meter dives. Shepler took third overall in the platform dive at ACC’s to pickup all-conference hardware as well.
Rains owns the top men’s mark for the year in all three dives, with scores of 323.30 (1-meter), 358.05 (3-meter) and 251.30 (platform). Arcara has posted scores of 312.65 (1-meter), 316.35 (3-meter) and 250.90 (platform).
