Women's Swimming, ACC Diving Championships Begin Wednesday

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State women’s swimming, and both the men’s and women’s divers, will head to nearby Chapel Hill for the ACC Championships, Feb. 17-20, at Koury Natatorium on the North Carolina campus.
A complete list of events and times, as well as live webcasts and results, will be available throughout competition via ACC Swimming & Diving Championships Central.
The women’s swimming and diving team enjoyed one of its most successful seasons in reason memory this year, compiling a 7-2 (3-2 ACC) record with ACC wins over Duke, Georgia Tech and Clemson.
Wolfpack swimmers have posted 13 new top-10 all-time marks in individual events, adding three more in relay competition. Marifrances Henley (100, 200 and 500 freestyle) posted three new times, while Maresa-Like Mathews (200 butterfly, 400 IM) and Jen Kopenitz (100 backstroke, 200 IM) both added two. Of the swimmers headed to the conference meet, Morgan Roberston (100 back), Patrice Dason (100 back), Anna Linkenauger (100 breast), Tracy Rorer (100 breast) and Christina McCann (200 breast) all posted one top-10 all-time swim this season.
Linkenauger, who owns school records in the 200 breaststroke, 200 IM and 400 IM, also hit an NCAA “B” cut in the 400 IM earlier this year.
On the diving front, all four Wolfpack divers – Chris Arcara, Hannah Hopkins, Hudson Rains and Kirstyn Shepler – have qualified for the NCAA diving zones. All four are also freshmen.
