Burke Tabbed ACC Rookie of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - NC State freshman forward Kody Burke was named this week's Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week on Monday, as voted on by the league's "Blue Ribbon Panel."
Burke had a nice showing back in her home state by helping NC State to a pair of wins last week at the Beach Classic in Long Beach, Calif.
The rookie from Northridge averaged a double-double with 10.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. She shot 56.3 percent from the field and also had five blocks over the two games.
Burke registered her first collegiate double-double performance with 11 points and a season-high 13 rebounds in an 86-60 win over Florida A&M, and followed that up with 10 points and eight boards in the 92-72 win over the host Long Beach State 49ers.
She was named to the all-tournament team for her work in the two games, while teammate Bonae Holston was tabbed MVP after averaging 16.0 points and 7.0 boards per game.
