RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State swimming and diving will return to competition on Friday, at 5 p.m. in nearby Durham, N.C. Both the men's and women's teams will face Duke in the second ACC contest of the year for both programs, while the women will also take on Campbell for the second time this season.
The Wolfpack men enter the meet at 3-0 (1-0 ACC), having swept both Maryland and Davidson at home last weekend. The women stand at 2-1 (0-1 ACC), after losing to the Terrapins and topping the Wildcats.
Just three meets into his career with the Wolfpack, Ivan Kopas already stands sixth all-time in school history in the 100 backstroke (49.30) and ninth in the 200 backstroke (1:47.57).
Jennifer Kopenitz and Kelsey Liu have also posted top-10 all-time swims this season, as Kopenitz's 2:03.22 is seventh in the 200 butterfly and Liu's 2:19.90 is ninth in the 200 breaststroke.
In diving action, Hudson Rains has already qualified for NCAA zones on both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives, while Kirstyn Shepler has qualified on the 1-meter dive.
Duke's men carry a 2-0 record with wins over UNC Wilmington and Maryland, while the women (0-2) lost both contests. Campbell's women hold a 2-2 slate.
The NC State women topped Campbell earlier this year in its season opener on Oct. 16, 168-79, claiming first place in 11 different events.
