Women's Golf Finishes Play at Tar Heel Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The NC State women's golf team finished in 18th place at the Tar Heel Invitational this weekend. In Sunday's final round, the Wolfpack shot a 15-over (303), and for the tournament finished at 44-over (908).
Senior Brooke Baker and freshman Brittany Marchand tied for the Pack's top round of the day, as each shot a three-over (75) on Sunday. Marchand finished the tournament at 3-over (219), while Baker finished at 11-over (227).
Freshman Ana Menendez shot a five-over (77) in the final round, and finished the three-round event at 9-over (225).
Rounding out the Pack's squad this week, sophomore Amanda Baker finished at 22-over (238) and freshman Maureen Dunnagan was 25-over (241).
The star-studded field competing at UNC's Finley Golf Course this weekend featured 16 of the 18 teams ranked in the top-44 nationally, including five of the top-10 teams.
No. 3 Alabama led from start to finish, and captured the team title by 12 shots finishing at 28-under (836). Alabama's Brooke Pancake and LSU's Megan McChrystal both finished at 11-under (205), and Pancake won on the second playoff hole for medalist honors.
NC State has one more tournament this fall, as the Pack will compete in the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C., on October 22-24.
