Jones Wins Shot Put at UNC Classic

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Jason Jones won the weight throw and was second in the shot put at the UNC Classic on Saturday for the men's track and field team. Jones threw a 16.91m in the weight throw and a 17.28 in the shot put.

A'Tolani Akinkuotu was fourth in the 60m with a 6.89, but he had his best time in the prelims with a 6.86. Reggie Reese finished fifth with a 6.90, but also ran a 6.86 in prelims.

In the high jump, Kris Kornegay-Gober was fourth with a 1.98m, and Kwame Boatwright with a 1.93m.

Boatwright was also fifth in the triple jump with a 14.24m.
