M. Tennis Hosts No. 55 Vanderbilt and No. 33 Michigan

Raleigh, N.C. - After sweeping both Gardner-Webb and North Carolina Central last Sunday, 7-0, the No. 52 NC State men's tennis team hosts No. 55 Vanderbilt at 4:00 p.m. tomorrow and No. 33 Michigan on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. Michigan and Vanderbilt face off against each other at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23.
This past Sunday was a chance for Wolfpack fans to see four new faces. Fernando Banos, Dominic Hodgson, Rafael Paez and Dave Thomson all saw action for the first time during a spring match.
Hodgson won both singles matches at the No. 1 and 2 slot respectively. D. Thomson played at the No. 3 spot, winning both matches with ease. Banos and Rafael, also were victories in both of their singles matches.
This marks the third and final year that the three teams have faced each other. Michigan hosted in 2008, while Vanderbilt hosted in 2009. Last year, the Wolfpack upset then No. 14 Michigan, 4-3, while losing to No. 28 Vanderbilt, 4-3.
The Commodores are 2-0 on the year, having beat Belmont and Chattanooga last weekend. The Wolverines will be competing in their first dual match of the spring.
Fans coming to the 4:00 p.m. match against Vanderbilt are asked to park in the West Lot off of Varsity Drive.
