Women's Tennis Completes UVA Fall Invite

Charlottesville, Va. - The NC State women's tennis team concluded play at the University of Virginia Fall Invitational on Sunday, Sept. 20.
Sandhya Nagaraj advanced to the third place bracket, and won by default against No. 116 Nadine Fahoum of Old Dominion. In the seventh place bracket, Berkeley Brock lost to Erin Vierra of Virginia, 6-0, 6-3.
In a consolation bracket, Diana Mortlock went up against her teammate, Tana Illova. Mortlock won 6-2, 6-0. Chloe Smith had a nice showing in her fifth place bracket. She defeated Adriana Pereira, 6-4, 1-6, (10-6). Ashley Miller was defeated by Thaddea Lock of Marshall, 6-2, 7-5, in her fifth place bracket.
In doubles competition, Brock and Nagaraj lost the championship final to Jennifer Stevens and Hana Tomlijanovic of Virginia, 8-2. Miller and Smith won their consolation third place bracket against Anik Cepeda and Nina Vulvovich of William & Mary, 9-8(2). Mortlock and Sessoms defeated Carissa King and Christina Danosi of Dartmouth, 8-2, in the consolation final.
Some members of the Wolfpack will travel to Pacific Palisades, Calif. to participate in the ITA All-American, beginning Saturday, Oct. 3.
