Track & Field at UNC Elite Meet on Friday

The NC State men's and women's track and field teams will be in action on Friday, May 8th at the UNC Elite Meet in Chapel Hill, N.C. Eight men and 15 women will compete in the meet for the red and white.
Leading the men will be Jason Jones, who ranks 33rd nationally in the shot put with a mark of 58'03.25".
Kwame Boatwright, Gregory Dame, Eyob Eyualem, Tim Majors, James Robinson, Lamont Savage and Frank Simmons will also compete for the men.
On the women's side, Lawanda Henry and Mattie Bethea will lead the team as each has two marks that rank in the top 41 nationally.
Henry is 14th in the shot put and 41st in the hammer throw. She will compete in both events at the meet.
Bethea is 40th in the heptathlon and 41st in the high jump. Bethea will compete in the 200m, 100m hurdles and the long jump.
Angelina Blackmon is ranked 34th in the 800m run, and will compete in that event in addition to the 1,500.
In addition, Tiayonna Blackmon, Amanda Burger, Amira Chowyuk, Gabrielle Daniel, Brandalyn Furr, Kayla Lawson, Brittany McCain, Lauren Montgomery, Ashley Neal, Alesha Patterson, Marika Walker and Colleen Wetherbee will compete for the women.
