Softball Draws UNC for ACC Championship Opener

RALEIGH, N.C. - The 2009 ACC Softball Championship will be held this weekend, May 8-10, at NC State's own Curtis & Jacqueline Dail Softball Stadium. The sixth-seeded Wolfpack will take on rival third-seed North Carolina in the opening round, with first pitch scheduled for 12 noon on Friday. Tickets are available on GoPack.com, or by calling the ticket office at 919-865-1510.
Coverage of the Championship’s first two days will be available live and free at ACCSelect.com. Sunday’s final will be televised on the league’s regional sports networks.

NC State finished its regular season at 23-24 (5-13 ACC), while the Tar Heels posted a 44-10 (15-5 ACC) slate.
