Weinacker Earns Bid to NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Senior Jay Weinacker of the NC State men's tennis team received an at-large bid to compete in the NCAA Individual Championships as released by the NCAA on Wednesday, April 29. The NCAA selected 64 singles players to compete in the competition to be conducted May 20-25 at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station, Texas, after the team championship. Weinacker is one of 13 ACC players to make the field.
This season, Weinacker has gone 14-10 in singles play at the No. 1 spot for the Pack. He is currently ranked 36th in the nation in singles. Weinacker, who was named All-ACC for the second straight year, has notched 104 singles victories to date, the most in school history. Last season, he competed in the doubles championship with partner Nick Cavaday. This is Weinacker's first appearance in the individual championships for singles.
