Softball To End Regular Season at Boston College

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State softball team will end its 2009 regular season this weekend against Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The Wolfpack and Eagles will play a single game tomorrow, Friday, April 24, at 4 p.m. before wrapping up the series with a doubleheader (11 a.m., 1 p.m.) on Saturday, April 25. Live stats for all three games will be available via GoPack.com, while ACC Select will offer a live video stream online.
The Pack heads north with a 20-23 (3-12 ACC) record. Alyssa Allbritten leads the team in batting average (.282), hits (35) and total bases (51), while Alyssa Ishibashi is second in hits with 31. Kristine Bechtholdt and Allison Presnell each own seven home runs, and Bridget Desbois' 20 RBIs is a team best.
Lindsay Campana (10-10) and Mendy McKenzie (8-11) figure to be the probable starters for the series. Campana carries a 1.96 ERA, as McKenzie's ERA stands a 2.32. McKenize has one more strikeout than Campana for the year with 138.
Boston College stands at 16-26 (2-10 ACC), having posted a 4-5 record thus far at home. Irene Delagrammaticas is batting .289, while Amy Tunstall has 22 RBIs. Dani Weir has five home runs, and Blair Destito boasts five.
Taylor Peyton (9-11, 3.01 ERA) and Allison Gage (6-10, 3.53 ERA) have logged the majority of innings for the BC pitching staff, with Peyton working 121 and Gage tossing 113.
