RALEIGH, N.C. The NC State men’s golf team will compete in the ACC Championships this weekend. The 2009 ACC Championships will be held at the Old North State Club at Uwharrie Point in New London, N.C., for the eight consecutive year. It is a par 72, 7,100 yard course.
NC State will field the same team it has sent to the past three tournaments: seniors Darren Blair and Andrew Byrd, junior Brad Revell, and sophomores Brandon Detweiler and Matt Hill.
The Pack is coming off back-to-back seventh place finishes at both the 2007 and 2008 ACC Championships, and prior to that finished fourth or better three straight times from 2004-06. NC State will be looking to capture its second ACC Championship of all-time, as the Pack previously brought home top honors in 1990.
The teams will play a total of three rounds, one per day starting on Friday. The competition begins at 8:30 a.m., and the Pack will be in group three with North Carolina and Wake Forest.
Live scoring will be available on golfstat.com, and complete coverage of the tournament, including ACC Select info, can be found at theacc.com.
