Track & Field Trio Stars at Reebok Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. - A trio of NC State track and field stars - Brittany Tinsley, Kara McKenna and LaWanda Henry - each hit NCAA regional qualifying marks in their events at the 2009 Reebok Raleigh Relays on a rainy Friday at Derr Track.
Tinsley and McKenna hit their marks in the 5,000m, finishing fifth and seventh, respectively. Tinsley's time of 16:34.34 was a personal-best, and McKenna also hit a personal-best with a 16:40.69.
Henry broke the outdoor school record in the shot put with a 51'10.00" and now holds the school record for both indoor and outdoor.
Mattie Bethea and Gabrielle Daniel both hit personal-bests on the day.
Bethea earned hers with a 14.30 in the 100m hurdles, earning a spot in Saturday's final. She also finished third in the high jump.
Daniel ran a 12.39 for her personal-best in the 100m.
