Women's Tennis Falls to No. 37 Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The NC State women's tennis team fell to No. 37 Wake Forest, 6-1, in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Wednesday, March 18. Junior Berkeley Brock defeated Sierra Poske to grab the Pack's singles point. The Pack falls to 3-9 (0-2 ACC), and Wake Forest improves to 10-4 (1-0 ACC).
Aileen Davis and Emilee Malvehy defeated junior Daria Petrovic and senior Neils Barringer, 8-3, at No. 2, and Katarina Reveche and Christian Tara took down freshmen Diana Mortlock and Pender Sessoms, 8-3, at No. 3. The No. 46 doubles team of Brock and sophomore Lenka Hojckova took down No. 55 Sierra Poske and Sasha Kulikova, 8-5, at No. 1.
Malvehy defeated Petrovic, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 3, and Barringer fell to Tara, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 4. Ryann Cutillo beat Sessoms, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 6 to secure the win for the Demon Deacons.
Mortlock fell to Reveche, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2, at No. 5, and No. 99 Hojckova lost to No. 51 Kulikova, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4. Brock won her match in the third set, 4-6, 7-6(3), 1-0(10-8), at No. 2, over Poske.
The Pack will face Boston College next on Saturday, March 21 at 12 p.m. in Raleigh, N.C. at the JW Isenhour Tennis Center.
