RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State women's track and field will head to the 2009 ACC Indoor Championships this week in Blacksburg, Va. The women will be lead by Lawanda Henry, one of the top throwers nationally.
Henry is 10th nationally and leads the ACC in the shot put with a school-record 53'02.25". She is also second in the conference in the weight throw with a mark of 61'09.00", the second-best mark in Wolfpack history.
In addition, four other athletes with ACC top-10 marks will compete for the back in Blacksburg. Brittany Tinsley, who is ninth in the ACC in the 3,000m, will compete in that event in addition to the 5,000m.
Mattie Bethea ranks eighth in the pentathlon and fifth in the high jump in the ACC. Last year, Bethea turned in the second-highest jump in school history and will look to find success at the ACC Indoor Championships in the high jump.

Brittany McCain is fifth in the weight throw in the conference and will compete in that event this week.
