Men's Swimming Takes Off for ACC Championships

RALEIGH, N.C. NC State men’s swimming is heading off to College Park, Md., for the ACC Championships, Feb. 25-28. Free live video coverage will be carried online by ACC Select, while live stats will be offered here. For a complete list of events and times, visit the ACC Championships page.
The Wolfpack men sealed conference wins over Maryland, Duke and Clemson during the regular season. Mason McGee also set a new school record in the 500 freestyle, and five new all-time top-10 times in school history have been established on the year courtesy of McGee (200 freestyle), Stephen Mellor (200 butterfly) and Kevin Woodhull-Smith (200 backstroke, 200 IM). Mellor holds three school records (200 backstroke, 200 IM, 400 IM), the most of any men’s swimmer in the school record books.
State swimmers also hold 25 top-10 time’s throughout ACC events this year, with Mellor (100 backstroke, 200 backstroke, 100 butterfly, 200 butterfly, 200 IM) and McGee (200 freestyle, 500 freestyle, 1000 freestyle, 1650 freestyle, 400 IM) each posting five. Woodhull-Smith (200 butterfly, 200 IM, 400 IM, 200 backstroke) has four, Andrew Lester (500 freestyle, 1000 freestyle, 400 IM) holds three, and Dan Forsythe (100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke) and Danny Voss (200 breaststroke, 400 IM) each own two. Conor Brennan (50 freestyle), Taylor Goodwin (200 backstroke), Ben Mechak (200 backstroke) and Sean Reams (200 butterfly) each have one of their own.
