W. Track & Field Heads to VT Challenge

RALEIGH, N.C. - Lawanda Henry will lead NC State women's track and field into the the VT Challenge in Blacksburg, Va. Henry has provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the shot put (four marks) and the weight throw (one).
Henry, who ranks seventh in the shot put and 20th in the weight throw nationally, already owns the school record in the shot put and is second all-time in the weight throw.
Brittany Tinsley ranks ninth in the ACC in the 3,000m and will compete in the mile at the VT Challenge.
Kara McKenna, who is 10th in the league in the mile, will run the 3,000m in Blacksburg.
Brittany McCain is fifth in the ACC in the weight throw, and she will compete alongside Henry in the event this weekend.
Mattie Bethea and Kayla Lawson rank eighth in the league in the high jump and will compete this weekend in the same event. Lawson will also compete in the triple jump and Bethea will run in the 60m hurdles and 200m. Bethea will also do the long jump and shot put at the meet.
