Men's Golf Opens Spring Season at Rice Intercollegiate

RALEIGH, N.C. The NC State men’s golf team will start its spring portion of the season this upcoming week, as the Pack travels to Houston, Texas, to compete in the Rice Intercollegiate on February 16-17. NC State will be one of 15 teams competing.
The tournament will be held at the Westwood Golf Club on a par 72 course, and will be played with two rounds on Monday, and the third and final round on Tuesday.
NC State will be sending senior Darren Blair, junior Kent Copeland, sophomores Chad Day, Brandon Detweiler and Matt Hill.
The Pack starts the season after a very successful fall campaign. NC State competed in three tournaments, finished second two times and also fourth last time out. The Pack is currently ranked No. 21 nationally according to Golf Week.
