RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State head coach Richard Sykes announced the signing of three golfers this week. Albin Choi (Toronto, Ontario), Christian Hawley (Kernersville, N.C.) and Graham Baillargeon (Mississauga, Ontario) will be joining the Wolfpack roster next year.
Sykes continues to recruit top golfers from Ontario, with both Choi and Baillargeon hailing from the Canadian province.
Choi, from Northview Heights High School, is the third consecutive Ontario Junior Boys' Champion to join the Pack. Choi finished the tournament with an eleven-under par 277. Choi also picked up wins at the CN Future Links Ontario Championship and Pacific Championship earlier in the year.
Hawley attends Kernersville Glenn High School. He was recently named to the 2009 N.C. Boys' All-State First Team. Hawley finished second at both the Tarheel Junior and Triad Junior this year. He also tied for fourth at the Heritage Junior Championship.
Baillargeon is transferring in from Michigan State and will be a junior for the 2010 fall season. Baillargeon won the Canadian Junior Amateur and Canadian Junior Boys Championship in 2007. He also tied for second at the Ontario Junior and Juvenile Boys Championship during the same year.
Baillargeon was a four-year letterwinner and captain at St. Aloysius Gonzaga High School. He made the state tournament his sophomore through senior years, capturing the title his senior year.
Ontario has been good to the Pack, with Brad Revell, Mitchell Sutton and reigning NCAA National Champion Matt Hill from the area.
The NC State men's golf team will resume play on Feb. 22-23 at the Mardi Gras Intercollegiate in New Orleans, La.
The Pack will host the Wolfpack Invitational, which will be their first ever tournament at the brand new Lonnie Poole Golf Course on Apr. 9-10.
