RALEIGH, N.C. – Former NC State All-American Garth Mulroy was one of 25 Nationwide Tour players who secured a 2010 PGA TOUR card this past weekend at the season-ending Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island in Charleston, S.C. by finishing among the year's top-25 money winners. Mulroy will the fourth former Pack golfer on the 2010 tour, along with Tim Clark, Carl Pettersson, and Marc Turnesa.
"The Nationwide Tour is such a great place to play,” said Mulroy. “It's perfect for me because from my experience this Tour is run exactly the same way the PGA Tour is run. Other than the different faces and purses it's still the same game. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to play out here and win, I'm really looking forward to next year on the PGA Tour."
The Nationwide Tour's 29-tournament season came to a pressure-packed conclusion at the Ralston Creek course at the Daniel Island Club with Matt Every winning the $1 million Nationwide Tour Championship.
Mulroy finished tied for 21st, and finished 14th on the Nationwide Tour’s money list this season. He finished in the top-25 10 times, and won the South Georgia Classic this past summer.
A native of Durban, South Africa, Mulroy was on the NC State golf team from 2000-2001. He was a 2001 All-American and also earned All-ACC honors.
