Track & Field Heads to VT Hokie Invitational

The NC State women's track and field teams will travel to Blacksburg, Va. for the two-day VT Hokie Invitational. Nine women will make the trip for the meet, which runs Jan. 16-17 as the indoor season continues.
On the women's side, Lawanda Henry, the school-record holder in the shot put and an NCAA Indoor Provisional Qualifier, will lead the women. Henry leads the ACC in both the shot put and weight throw.
Other notable women's athletes include Taylor Graham and Brandalynn Furr, who both rank in the top-10 in the ACC in the 55 meters.
Mattie Bethea, who holds the third best high jump mark in the conference, will also compete for the Pack in multiple events.
Brittany McCain currently ranks third in the ACC in the weight throw will compete in the throwing events.
Also making the trip will be Gabrielle Daniel, Lauren Montgomery, Tiana Thorpe and Taryn Wentz.
