Jones To Be Spotlighted at Lenovo Olympic Athlete Celebration

RALEIGH, N.C. On Wednesday, Oct. 1, former NC State swimmer Cullen Jones will join several other Triangle Olympians at the second-annual Lenovo Olympic Athlete Celebration at the Embassy Suites in Cary, N.C.

Jones was a member of the United States 4x100 team that won a gold medal last month in Beijing. In 2006, Jones won the NCAA Championship in the 50-yard freestyle in Atlanta, the culmination of a record-setting career with the Wolfpack.

Jones and another former NC State swimmer, Dan Velez, will both be honored during NC State’s home football game against Florida State on Oct. 16. Velez represented Puerto Rico at the Olympics in Beijing.
