RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State men’s tennis team begins its fall season by competing in two tournaments this weekend. Redshirt freshman Eric Turner and freshman newcomer Akash Gujarati will head to Wilmington, N.C. on Friday, Sept. 12 for the UNC Wilmington Invite. Seniors Derek Stephens, Jay Weinacker, and Christian Welte, junior Frideric Prandecki, sophomores David Chermak and Rob Lowe, redshirt freshman Julian Sullivan, and freshman Jaime Pulgar will all travel to State College, Pa. for the Penn State Fall Classic beginning on Friday. Both tournaments will last through Sunday, Sept. 14.
Last season, Turner went 5-8 in singles and 3-5 in doubles in the fall, before he received a medical redshirt in the beginning of the spring season.
