PINEHURST, N.C. Sophomore Brandon Detweiler seems to have a flair for the dramatics at the 108th U.S. Amateur Championship at Pinehurst. For the second straight round of match play, Detweiler won the final two holes to advance. Detweiler is now one of just 16 golfers remaining.
In this morning’s Round of 32, Detweiler won 1-Up over Brian Harman of Georgia. Detweiler will have to turn right back around, and play in the Round of 16 this afternoon against Patrick Reed also from Georgia with a tee time of 2:15 p.m.
Also for the second straight round, Detweiler’s only lead of the match would come when the score was final. After the first three holes the two players were even today, then Harman held the lead on every hole up too No. 14.
Detweiler would par No. 14 and tie the match while Harman had a bogey, but the roles were reversed on No. 15 with Harman winning the hole. Both golfers birdied No. 16, and it was Harman that carded a one-shot lead going to the 17th hole.
Detweiler would birdie the par-3 No. 17 to tie the match up, and on No.l8 Detweiler would par the hole while Harman had a bogey giving Detweiler the win once again on the final hole. Yesterday, Detweiler won the 19th hole of the day to advance.

The two golfers tied on the first hole, and it was Kim that grabbed a one-hole lead on No. 2. That lead lasted until hole No. 7, where Kim would win four of the next six holes to increase his lead which he never surrendered.
