Brock Takes UNC Greensboro Regional ITA Summer Circuit Title

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Sophomore Berkeley Brock took home the UNC Greensboro singles title for the ITA Summer Circuit on July 28 after defeating Natalie Pluskota from Tennessee in the finals. The event was the fourth week of the Southeast Regional and began on July 25.
Brock received a first round bye, and in the second round, quickly defeated Lucy Schmermerhorn, 6-0, 6-0. Stephanie Jasper from Montana State was Brock’s second opponent, and she quickly advanced to the fourth round after taking down Jasper 0-6, 6-2,1-0 (10-3). Brock secured a spot in the quarterfinals after winning over Ali Beavers of GSU, 6-1, 6-1, and then defeated Courtney Rauscher from Virginia Tech. 6-1, 6-0, to move on to the semifinals. In the semifinals, Brock took on Joanna Mather of Florida, and won 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-2).
Brock played in the singles finals on July 28 against Natalie Pluskota of Tennessee. Brock quickly claimed the title with a 6-1, 6-3, win over Pluskota.
The ITA National Summer Championships are at Indiana University from August 11-15. More information, as well as results from all other regionals, can be found at www.itatennis.com.
