Swimming & Diving Places Four on All-ACC Academic Team

RALEIGH, N.C. Four NC State men and women’s swimmers and divers were named to the 2008 All-ACC Academic Team as announced Thursday, May 8, by conference commissioner John D. Swofford. Chelsea Ale from the women’s team made the list, while Austin Hampton, Andrew Lester and Mason McGee picked up the distinction on the men’s side.
All four student-athletes were tabbed for the second-straight year.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his/her academic career.
Ale and McGee are both sophomores, with Ale studying sports management and McGee focusing on Biological Sciences. Lester, a junior, is also working towards a degree in Biological Sciences while Hampton, the lone senior of the four-some, majors in biomedical engineering.
