W. Track & Field Heads to Penn Relays

NC State women's track and field will send nine student-athletes to the annual Penn Relays this week as the outdoor seasons rolls on. DeMiracle Washington, Brittany Tinsley, Alesha Patterson and Kayla Lawson will compete for the women's squad a week after the trio had a successful stay at the ACC Outdoor Championships.
DeMiracle Washington will compete at the Penn Relays in the triple jump and long jump championship sections. She finished fourth in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump at the ACC Outdoor Championships. Washington is the school record holder in the long jump.
Patterson, who finished eighth in the outdoor high jump at the ACC Championships and was All-ACC at the indoor meet, will compete for the women's team in the college section of the meet.
Kayla Lawson will also compete in the college section of the high jump after a ninth place finish in the ACC Outdoor Championships a week ago.
Tinsley had a pair of top-10 finishes in the 5,000 and 10,000 meter runs at the ACC Outdoor Championships and will compete in the championship section of the 5K at the Penn Relays.
