Raleigh, N.C. - Needing a good event to improve its won-loss record, NC State shot a final-round 13-under 271 to win the Hootie at Bulls Bay. The Wolfpack finished at 14-under 838, 12 shots in front of Clemson and South Carolina. It was the first time since 1997 that NC State has won an event during the spring season. The victory helped NC State improve its head-to-head record 38-49-2 (a winning record is needed to be postseason eligible).
Freshman Matt Hill was also named the College Golfer of the Week by Golf World, after winning the Hootie at Bulls Bay, finishing nine-under par.
The Pack returns to action this weekend, taking part in the Administaff Invitational at Augusta, Ga. NC State will then host the Wolfpack Intercollegiate at River Landing Country Club in Wallace, N.C., April 11-13.
