The Lady Tigers are joining the LSU athletic teams that have joined the fight to support awareness of breast cancer and all proceeds from silent auctions will go to the Women’s Hospital Victory Open scheduled for October.
The Woman’s Victory Open is an all-women’s golf tournament supporting breast cancer education, outreach and research programs of Woman’s Hospital. Established in 1999, the Women’s Victory Open is the premier women’s charity golf event in Louisiana. Since its inception, funds raised have exceeded $700,000. The 2007 event raised more than $139,000.
“I have been inspired by what our sports are doing for breast cancer awareness and because three of my girls mothers have been effected by female related cancer. I felt it was a great opportunity to support the fight against breast cancer and represent women collegiate golfers,” said LSU women’s golf coach Karen Bahnsen.
