Martinez Sets Personal Best in 3,000m

John Martinez led a 1-2-3-4 finish in the 3,000m for the NC State men's track and field team at the UNC Relays. The men also competed at the Virginia Tech Challenge in Blacksburg, Va.
Martinez finished first with a 8:17.63, followed by teammates Stephen Furst (8:17.79), John Crews (8:17.82) and Freddy Torres (8:41.18) took the top four spots in the 3,000m in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Jason Jones won the shot put and the weight throw for the second time each this season at the UNC Relays. He hit his second best weight mark of the season and third best in the shot put. Jones is already a NCAA Provisional Qualifier in the shot put this season.
