RALEIGH, N.C. The College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has recognized both the NC State men and women’s teams as having some of the top team GPA’s in all of the country. Additionally, two swimmers on the men’s side were tabbed with honorable mention Academic All-America accolades.
The men’s program was praised for its 3.140 overall team GPA last year, which stands as the 21st-best mark in all of the NCAA. Both juniors Mason McGee and Kevin Woodhull-Smith picked up honorable mention Academic All-America status due to their individual success in the classroom. McGee, an engineering major, holds a 3.940 GPA, while Woodhull-Smith, studying civil engineering, carries a 3.530.
The 3.195 overall women’s team GPA was also praised. That recognition comes after 17 members of the team were named to the ACC Honor Roll last year.
