Brock Advances to Round of 32 at ITA Regional

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. Junior Berkeley Brock advanced to the round of 32 at the ITA Regional in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Friday, Oct. 24. Brock defeated Hailey Hemm of UNC, 6-1, 6-3, to advance in the competition. Senior Neils Barringer also competed in the first round of the main singles draw after advancing from the qualifying singles, but fell to Monica Arguello of Furman, 6-2, 6-1. Sophomore Lenka Hojckova fell in the first round of singles to Amanda Granson of Duke, 6-2, 6-3.
Brock and Hojckova also advanced to the round of 16 in doubles after defeating Bianca Gorbea and Natalie Baez of Louisville, 8-6. Barringer and freshman Diana Mortlock fell in the round of 32 to Sanaz Marand and Sophie Grabinski of UNC, 8-5.
The tournament will continue throughout the weekend and will conclude on Oct. 27.
