The 37
th-ranked NC State women's tennis team will host No. 51 Marshall and No. 64 Minnesota this weekend at the
J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. The Wolfpack (2-0) will take on
Marshall (4-1) on Friday at
5 p.m. and
Minnesota (3-0) on Sunday at
noon. Admission is free.
The Wolfpack won their second straight match last Friday, beating Davidson, 7-0. Daria Petrovic won her singles match at No. 1 and then teamed up with Berkeley Brock to win at No. 1 doubles. Three other players also found success in both their singles and doubles matches. Five players now hold 2-0 singles records.
Petrovic is ranked No. 79 nationally by the ITA, while Brock is ranked No. 97.
Scouting Marshall:
Marshall is ranked No. 51 in the ITA rankings... The Herd's only loss this season came in their opening match to Kentucky, 6-1... Kellie Schmitt is ranked No. 19 in singles, while Schmitt and Karolina Soor are ranked No. 15 in doubles.
Scouting Minnesota:
Minnesota is ranked No. 64 in the ITA rankings... The Gopher's are 3-0 this season with home wins over Drake, Wisconsin-Milwaukee and South Dakota State.
