Men's Golf Leads Navy Invite by 17 Shots

Raleigh, N.C. After the first round of the Navy Golf Invite in Annapolis, Md., the NC State men’s golf team sits in first place with a team score of five-under par. The Wolfpack, play in its first fall tournament, currently holds a 17-stroke lead over second place Delaware.
Andrew Byrd leads the field, as he fired a 67 in the first round. Close behind in a tie for second place is Adam Hogue. Darren Blair is in fifth with his 70, and teammates Brad Revell and Nathan Spoon are tied for 11th with their scores of 74.
A pair of Wolfpack golfers are also competing as individuals, Hertzog Landman shot a 68 and is tied for second, while newcomer Matt Hill was one of three Pack golfers to shoot a 74.
The second and final round will be played tomorrow.
