Tennis Opens Season with Three Singles Wins

Freshman Rob Lowe had an impressive debut for the Wolfpack with two singles wins and sophomore Frideric Prandecki continued his success from last year as NC State opened its season at the UNC Wilmington Invitational. Graduate student Daniel Schinke also played two tough matches for the Pack.
Lowe opened in the Teal Bracket and easily defeated Kyle Maloof of Flagler, 6-0, 6-2. Lowe would then advance further with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Clark Howell of Elon.
Schinke also competed in the Teal Bracket, but fell in two tough matches. His first match was against Joseph Winters of Coastal Carolina and ended in a narrow loss, 6-4, 7-6 (4). Schinke fell in his second match of the day, as well, losing 7-5, 6-2, to Brian Ford of UNC Wilmington.
Prandecki defeated Mike Catalano of East Carolina, 6-1, 6-0, in the Navy Bracket in his only singles match of the day.
Prandecki and Lowe competed in the doubles bracket as well, and they defeated Maloof/Haines of Flagler, 9-8 (6) to advance.
The tournament continues Saturday and Sunday in Wilmington, N.C.
