Men's Golf Finishes Action at Carpet Capital Collegiate

Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State men's golf team completed its second tournament of the fall season, as the Wolfpack finished in 18th place at the Carpet Capital Collegiate at Rocky Face, Georgia, this weekend. NC State had a tough final round, as the Pack as a team shot a 13-over par in Sunday's round and finished the three-round tournament at 38-over par.
Freshman Matt Hill was the Pack's top golfer on the weekend, finishing 15th over all with a three-round score of 1-over par. On Sunday, Hill had the Pack's only under par round of the weekend, as he shot just one bogey and finished one-under par.
Darren Blair placed 28th overall with a tournament score of five-over par. Blair shot a 1-over par final round on Sunday, finishing with three birdies.
On Sunday, Andrew Byrd shot an eagle on the par-five No. 15, and also had two birdies.
The Pack will compete in one more fall tournament, traveling to Johnson City, Tennessee, to take part in The Bank of Tennessee Invite October 12-14.
