Men's Golf Slips to Ninth at ACC Championships

Raleigh, N.C. - After the second round af the ACC Championships on Saturday, the NC State men's golf team slipped down one spot into ninth place, now sitting at 14-over par for the tournament. The Pack matched yesterday's first round score of seven-over par 295 on Saturday at the Old North State Club at Uwharrie Point, New London, N.C. Sophomore Nathan Spoon matched his even-par round from yesterday, and is in 14th place overall to lead the Pack.
Spoon's day featured two birdies, and is the only Pack golfer not to be over-par through two rounds. Spoon was one of two NC State golfers that shot an even-par 72 on the day, as fellow sophomore Andrew Byrd also carded that same score. Byrd led the Pack on the day with a total of five birdies, and is now at one-over par through two rounds.
Senior Jerry Richardson had a six stroke improvement in the second round, as he shot a two-over 74 on the day. Richardson carded birdies on three of the first four holes.
Rounding out the day for the Pack, was sophomore Chase Duncan at five-over par, and senior Garry Hill at six-over par.
